Duck Stamp Remarque

A "remarque" is a painting done directly on a block of stamps which is painted by the artist featured on the stamps. So, here is my first remarque I did for a Junior Duck Stamp collector. It was a completely new and invigorating painting experience - which I got to record via time-lapse! You can watch the video by clicking on this link:
Enjoy!

The Roaring Fork Valley

Here's an acrylic painting I did for my boss a couple months ago. It's a landscape of the valley where he and his wife grew up in Colorado, under the shadow of Mt. Sopris, the snowcapped mountain in the middle of the painting. This painting reflects what the area looked like in the 1950's. He really enjoyed it and gave it to his wife as a Christmas gift.

Winking Wile E.

A NEW PAINTING!
Fur has been kinda my own personal challenge and, with all the practice I got on this coyote, I think I'm getting better at it!!! Praise God! I have entered this one for the NRA youth art competition. Praying it all goes well!

Blurred Flight

This is my first try at doing a sort of "in motion" painting. It's really loose and impressionistic compared to what I'm used to doing, but I like it a lot!

Last Chance

Here's another acrylic painting I recently completed. It is on a 18 x 24 canvas. It was really difficult, but fun, to add all the tiny details into the rocks. This is sort of what it looks like where I like to hunt :)

Echoing Bugles

This is another acrylic painting I did for the NRA Art Competition. Even though I didn't win anything, it was a lot of fun :)

Swan and Cygnets

This is a painting I did for the Junior Duck Stamp Competition. I actually won for the state of Wyoming and the piece is going on to the national competition. I'm so excited and praying that the Lord's will is done!!!
I'll update this post if I win national or anything :)

Some Digital Art

VANELLOPE!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so far my most successful digital rendering of skin color. It was sooo fun :)

Sometimes I get spontaneous and random inspiration....this was a time like that. A little...2D and impressionistic. But it was still way fun.
I did this one quite a while back...in 2012...kinda weird....its supposed to be a dramatic lighting picture of an explorer in cave. Its a little hard to get at first, but it will make sense after while...maybe.
 EXTREME ARTIST!...haha
Don't you ever just feel so sorry for penguins? They cant fly!!!! (well, i cant either...oh well) ... I was feeling very sympathetic, so I drew this. I did it in about 60 seconds....

Digital drawing is not really my strong suit...but I still have a ton of fun every time I try.
That's what art is, right? ... fun!

An Owl Drawing

This is a owl drawing I recently finished. I used a black and metallic Sharpie, some STAEDTLER pens, and a few good old fashioned graphite pencils. Super fun to draw! Would love to try drawing more owls like this in the future!

P.S....I dare you to have a staring competition with him. If you win please let me know:)
